Are those little manufacturer’s coupons worth using?
Store coupons are one way manufacturers get people to use their products. It is better to offer a discount than not to have a customer buy a particular product at all. They are not always the best bargain though. For products you want to try at a discount they are a good resource. The products you are loyal to may have manufacturer’s coupons too and if you are already buying that product why not use the cents off coupons and save some money. If you watch for rebates and in store doubling or tripling of coupons on particular days, you can save a great deal of money over time. Some warehouse stores will not accept coupons other than their own. Make sure you check the expiration dates on them before you go in to the store to use them. They aren’t really a great deal if you would be buying a similar product that is cheaper without a coupon. But think about cents off coupons on larger scale and that may make you more inclined to use them. If you were buying a house and all you had to do was bring in a little clipped piece of paper that saved you ten percent of the cost, wouldn’t you use it? This is the same thing on a smaller scale. If you don’t use them and still buy the product, you are throwing away money. A good portion of the down payment on my first house was paid for with money saved from coupons and product rebates, saved over a period of time. It added up. Mama Nono
