Can a mother bond with a baby when they bottle feed or only when they breast feed?
Of course a mother can bond with baby when they bottle feed the baby. Not all mothers are able to breastfeed. They may not be able to produce milk or they may be an adoptive mother but they can still bond with the baby during feeding time. Feeding time for a baby and mommy is a very special bonding time, whether it is by bottle or breast. It is a perfect time to spend one on one time with the baby. It is often quiet and soothing time when both mother and baby can relax a little and just enjoy each other’s company. You can cuddle with a baby, or sing to them, touch them and talk to the baby while you are feeding them with a bottle, the same way you can if you are breast feeding them. They can touch the mother too. The touch and interaction between mother and baby is very nurturing and very bonding. Feeding time is a warm and nurturing time between mother and baby. It is nice to be able to breastfeed, but if you cannot for whatever reason, the bonding time spent with the baby is very important. Another nice thing about bottle feeding is that anybody involved in the baby’s life can have that bonding time too if the baby is being bottle fed. Do not forget siblings, daddies, grandparents or other special relatives and friends. It is also a good time for a babysitter or caretaker to allow the baby to get to know them and for them to have a connection with the baby. Feeding time is bonding time. Mama Nono
