Can you make a dinner pie with veggies instead of fruit as a meal?

Sure you can make a dinner pie. If you want to make an easy dinner pie, buy the frozen premade pie shells and put one in a pie pan. Then you fill it with whatever your meal and sauce preferences are. Most kinds of meat will work fine but it is probably best to precook the meat. Then break it up into pieces to put in the pie. You can grill, boil or fry up a piece of chicken or some ground beef quickly and then cut it into small bite sized pieces or shred it into the pie along with your other choices of fillings. Cut up carrots, broccoli, onions, garlic, peas, mushrooms and beans work well in meat or veggie dinner pies. It is a good idea to cut the vegetables up well so they will cook properly in the pie. Fresh, frozen or canned veggies work although fresh veggies will taste the very best. For a sauce to put more moisture in the dinner pie, use either a white or a red sauce according to your personal taste. A can of cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup work well and are quick to add. If you want a deeper, sharper taste use a red tomato sauce instead. Be sure to add some herbs and seasonings to your dinner pie to give it more oomph. Then cover the top of the pie with another pie crust round, ventilate and bake it according to the pie shell package directions. Meat and veggie pies are a good all in one meal idea and easy to make.
