Do you have a better way to peel a potatoes?

Peeling potatoes takes forever the regular way, especially if you have a large number of them to peel for dishes like potato salad. There is an easier way to do the job. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Make sure there is enough water to cover all the potatoes you are preparing. Cut a slice around the potato through the skin of the potato with a sharp paring knife. Make sure you go all the way around the potato. Then put the potatoes in the boiling water. Leave them to boil for 15 to 20 minutes. While they are boiling, get a large bowl and fill it with cold water. Then add ice cubes so the water is very cold. Do this right before the potatoes are done boiling so that the ice is not all melted. Remove the potatoes from the water using a large spoon or some kind of grabbers that are water safe. Then put one potato at a time in to the ice cold and ice filled bowl of water. Let the potato sit for 20 or 30 seconds, or a little longer until you can handle it. Remove the potato from the water and pull off the potato skin with your fingers. The whole potato skin should come off easily. Repeat for each of the potatoes one at a time. This is a lot easier than peeling each bit of skin off with a knife or peeler. You can go through a large amount of potatoes quickly for use in potato salad or mashed potatoes. Mama Nono
