How can I decorate my first Thanksgiving table on a budget?

Category: Uncategorized

I am having my first Thanksgiving ever at my first place of my own. I can’t afford fancy decorations for the table but I do have a small budget set aside to decorate it. Do you have any suggestions for a first timer?

You don’t have to spend a fortune to make your Thanks giving table look autumn themed and festive. You can hit the grocery store for some basics that you can leave out on your table for the whole autumn season. Buy some colourful Indian corn. It doesn’t get eaten and it can be packed away for the next year. They sell large ears or small ones. They look nice in odd numbered groupings especially with some of the dried stalk leaves still on them. Autumn squashes, gourds and pumpkins add a nice touch too and they come in many different colours and shapes to give any dcor more texture and flair. The n you can go on a walk or out in your yard and gather some of the amazing autumn colored leaves to spread under the arrangement to give it an even more autumn look. If you are going t have the leaves out for awhile, get some glycerin to help preserve them. Then buy a few simple candle holders of whatever style appeals to you from a discount, import or thrift store and some candles to go in them. Set them up in the natural arrangement. To make a personal statement, buy a few pieces of autumn coloured paper from the craft store and make individual place cards to set at each place setting with. Then write a guest’s name on each one. If you can do the writing in calligraphy or fancy writing write their names that way. You can also put a miniature pumpkin or miniature ear of Indian corn in the center of each plate. Dressing up a table doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Mama Nono
