How can I remember things better?

Category: Uncategorized

I have a horrible memory for details like titles and names or little things I want to remember. The second I do something else I forget. It drives my husband crazy. What can I do?

Many people have this problem so don’t feel badly. There are little tricks you can use to help yourself remember things better or at least find a way to keep track of details that are important to you. One very simple things to do is to keep little pads of paper and a pen or pencil in commonly used areas of your home. Also keep one in a pocket or your purse and one in your car. There are also small hand held recorders available that you can carry around very easily and leave yourself messages on. Ask other people to leave specific messages in writing or on the phone or computer for you when they need you to remember an important detail or date. A calendars with writing space works great too. Make sure you hang it in a spot you see all the time like near a door or in a well used room, for example in the kitchen or near a sink, even next to the toilet. Don’t forget those sticky posting notes either. You can stick those anywhere. I usually have a great memory but when I want to make sure I don’t forget something, I either stick a note in a place I can’t miss it like on my steering wheel in the car or on my computer keyboard. If I really want to catch my own attention, I wrote the note on a larger piece of paper and leave it in the middle of the floor somewhere that I am near often where seeing it sitting there will bug me because I don’t like things all over the floor. I hope these ideas help. Mama Nono
