How can you make egg shaped Christmas ornaments without using real egg shells?

There are a few options for making ornaments that are egg shaped. Craft stores have papier mache eggs that you can paint and decorate. Find plastic eggs left from Easter to use. They come in a few different sizes. There are also plain wooden eggs available at craft stores. You can find all three kinds of eggs online too. If you plan ahead of time you can go to the stores closer to Easter and get a better selection of options that are easier to find that time of the year or wait until the after Easter clearance sales to find really good bargains on eggs you can use to make your Christmas ornaments with later in the year. For a fourth option use blown glass eggs and decorate them for a more delicate egg shaped ornament. All these styles can be decorated with paint, fabric, sewing trims, beads, photos, fake jewels and even things like dried flowers or decoupage. They can be as detailed or as simple as you like. Some of the most beautiful ones are made using the plastic Easter eggs. Then you spread glue on them and slowly put seed beads all over in a chosen design. This method is time consuming and it takes great patience but the results can range from humourous to extremely ornate. Whatever method you use, make sure you make a place to attach the hanging cord or wire at the top of the egg ornament of it doesn’t already have one. You may have to do that part before you start decorating the eggs, depending on what kind you use and what you are doing with them. Have fun creating! Mama Nono
