How do I help my aching hands and wrists caused by typing?

Category: Uncategorized

I’m a writer and my hands and wrists ache from typing on the computer all the time. You have any suggestions to help alleviate the problem?

Repetitive motions using the same muscles and same joints can not only cause aches and pains they can cause nerve damage. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a very common injury or disability that people who use their hands and wrists a lot are susceptible to, like writers or store clerks. You can treat your aches and pains in your hands and wrists by massaging them, putting heat on the affected areas, take simple over the counter pain relievers, soaking them in warm baths or you can use a simple program to help prevent some of the hand and wrist aches but you get from typing on a computer all of the time. Voice dictation or voice command programs are worth the investment if you are doing a lot of typing on the computer. If you have a newer computer you may even already have a voice dictation or voice command program in your lists of programs or on the list of items in your control panel. Look for titles like speech recognition, voice dictation and so forth. The programs take a little bit of getting used to, but they aren’t difficult to learn. They come with instructions and step by step guides. I do a lot of typing too and I get the same problem you do, with my hands and wrists aching from constant repetitive use. Once I started using my speech recognition program, when the aching became intolerable, using my voice program gave my sore hands wrists and arms a chance to relax. You do have to have a quiet place to work to be able to use them because they picked up people speaking around you sometimes. But if you want a simple way to not only relieve all the aches and pains you get from typing at your computer all the time but also to prevent them from happening in the first place, use a voice dictation program to do your typing for you.
