How should I prepare for a snowstorm?

Like any area prone to one kind or another kind of natural disaster the best thing you can do is prepare well ahead of the winter season for dangerous snowstorms. Don’t wait until the last second and then rush around looking for things that everyone else is looking for at the same time to survive a snowstorm or winter storm. Chances are you may come up short on what you need if you wait until the snow has hit and knocked out your utilities and outside food and water sources. Make a list of things you may need and buy them over the year during warmer seasons or wait for sales to save yourself some money and spread the cost over the year instead of hitting your budget all at once. You should have supplies ready in case of emergencies at all times of the year anyhow. If you are not familiar with what you may need in a snowstorm ask your neighbors or local emergency units like the fire department or local government emergency groups to see what they recommend you have on hand in case of a sever snow storm. You will need basics like food supplies, clothing, proper cold gear and supplies for power outages and loss of running water. Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst just in case it does happen. If you can afford things like a generator be sure to invest in one and keep it where you can get to it easily, not buried under a lot of other stuff in the garage. The point of emergency equipment and supplies is to have them when you need them and to be able to access them when you need them for a snowstorm, winter storm or any other natural disaster. Keep safe and like the scouts say, be prepared! Mama Nono
