Will my food tastes change as I get older?

Category: Uncategorized

Have your tastes in food changed a lot since you were a kid? I keep getting told mine will and I don’t believe it.

That is funny. I think every child gets told that at some point or other when they are growing up and trying a new food they don’t like that they then complain about. I was certainly told that .I know for many parents that is partially hope that you will expand your tastes and partially knowledge that they experienced the same things you are and got past a lot of them. My tastes were varied from the time I was small because we traveled a great deal and were exposed to many different kinds of foods. Besides that my mother was always experimenting with new foods and recipes. She was a wonderful cook, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t balk on occasion over things I didn’t care for. My tastes have expanded even more than when I was a child and some of the things I didn’t like I love now. Others though I have never liked and never will. No amount of growing up will change that. You do have to give everything a fair chance though and try new foods. Don’t reject them instantly because you don’t like how something looks or smells or because it isn’t something you are used to. Every food was new to you at some point and you got used to the ones you had never tried that you like now. By trying new things you may be surprised to find out how many foods you really do like and how much there is to explore in the world. Think of it as and an adventure and give it a chance. Have fun exploring! Mama Nono
